We have been told on numerous occasions that we should be charging twice as much as we do for the SBMS. It is our desire to keep it affordable for everyone. Because of the enormous effort to develop, enhance and maintain the System, the price for these products will be increased periodically as our marketing effort expands. The School Bus Management System and the Graphic Routing System are actually two individual and free standing systems. We have created them this way so that you are not forced to purchase both if you do not want to. We can say, however, that you will appreciate them more if you use them together. There are common files and programs that link the two systems together.
There is no charge for normal system updates to the School Bus Management System. Only major new program additions may cost extra. We do this so we can send out an updated version of the program, with whatever new enhancements have been added, thereby requiring maintenance of only one version.
It has not been necessary to charge a maintenance fee or contract for our services. There are no plans to implement any kind of maintenance agreement for the SBMS. Due to the rising costs of fuel and almost everything else, if a ‘house call’ or site visit is necessary or desirable, we will charge for gas and lodging.
A maintenance agreement may be implemented for the Graphic Routing System (GRS), due to the probable requirement for services on an annual basis. Let me explain. It is expected that during the school year, not much change will take place to the GRS system. Therefore, knowledge and skills for making changes to Routes & Stops will probably diminish and atrophy from lack of use. While the cost will be kept as low as possible, time and effort will be required on our part.
