Please review this paragraph about our current status.  The School Bus Management System (SBMS) was begun in 1990, through collaboration with our local school bus operator.   Shortly, as sales and client population grew, we began drawing ideas from these sources as well.    In 1997, I put our marketing effort on the shelf while working on contracts to various government and corporate organizations to deal with the Y2K problem.    During this time, it became apparent that bringing the SBMS into the Windows environment was gaining in importance.    While our marketing effort remained virtually non-existent, we supported our user/client base as faithfully as possible.   My last contract was to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) in Washington D.C., which ended in 2004.   At that point, I had quite a bit of the SBMS already converted to Windows.    Please refer to the GRS Status for more about the Graphic Routing System

We are reintroducing the SBMS.   We referred to the DOS version as the “BUS” program.    The new, Windows version is “BUS2”.    BUS2 operates well under Windows, including Windows XP.   It is operational and a work in progress.   My favorite way of putting it is, “as long as any of our current or future clients have ideas for improving or adding functionality to the SBMS, it will never be finished!!!!”

Compatibility and Conversion

FYI: We are working on compatiblity with a number of school administrative software systems.    Rather than name these systems, we would rather have you call.

Another point along those lines; we have successfully converted a FOX Pro based system, which was no longer being supported and which had severely corrupted files, to the School Bus Management System.    Having extensive experience in data conversion from one platform to another, Larry will work with any system to try salvaging data for conversion to the BUS2 system.  We must note, however, that corruption means data is “broke” and may not be recoverable.
